My motto is "Never give up!"
My Personal and Professional Goals
I was drawn to TEA program for several reasons. For one, I believe that a positive, collaborative relationship between the U.S. and Russia is essential for our future. I also believe that education is a very important vehicle for creating this mindset. On a personal level, the USA is my own area of interest and I hope this exchange program will allow me to cultivate my own knowledge, thus enhancing that of the students. I feel highly confident that the program will be conducted professionally. I anticipate that this program will change my way of teaching and the culture of my school immensely as I hope to be actively involved in the planning, organization, management, delivery and evaluation of all actions in which I am expected to participate during the program; to gain a valuable experience to be well-equipped to teach successfully my students with various abilities under many different conditions; to implement new practices in my teaching, create new classroom materials and projects, adapt all gained experience and integrate it into my daily classroom life to create an effective language classroom that is passionate and motivating to my students. I also hope to set up a monitored social networking arrangement via the internet between my colleagues and some classes in Russia and teachers and classes in the USA. This way, we all will be able to develop international relationships that last much longer than the six weeks. These connections are imperative in our global society, and strengthened through such exchange programs as TEA program. By collaborating with other like-minded teachers we empower ourselves in our individual teaching practices.Having the opportunity to share experiences and ideas with international colleagues will help me gain a sense of community and belonging as teachers all over the world face similar challenges due to the very nature of school environment. We need to seek out more opportunities for reflection, collegial support and collaboration through professional development experiences (workshops, seminars, classes and conferences) in our schools and among our students as well. Together we’ll find a way to be successful.
I think that we should recognize what an important role we teachers play in helping our students become confident, productive citizens of the world. We need to reaffirm our willingness to work together, as colleagues, to meet our potential as educators. We teachers are a positive force to generate a great deal of goodwill in the world. I am really happy to have a chance to influence young people – the leaders of the future.
